When to run solid pearl

• Water: Clear blue, 100 ft+ visibility
• Light: Bright sun through mid-morning
• Species: Tuna that are up but picky

A classic over a clear resin head, where you want the head doing the flashing and the skirt doing the shape.

Why the 9" length

The small profile. Mahi mahi, school tuna, and short-corner positions where a bigger bait gets looked at and refused. It is also the standard length for dressing daisy chains, dredge droppers and small chuggers.

One skirt is not a spread

The most common colour mistake is not picking the wrong one — it is picking one and running five of it. A spread is a test: every position is a question you are asking the ocean.
